Lewaravu is a solid and mobile forward who was part of the historical Suva Grammar U19 side that won the secondary schools Deans trophy in 2001 (first time in 62 years). The 1m96 lock was also just 18 when he played at the U21 World Cup in the same year.

In 2003, he established himself as a regular starter for defending champions Naitasiri in the Telecom Fiji Cup, finishing the season with 12 appearances including an important try in the 18-17 Sullivan-Farebrother trophy victory over Navosa.

Lewaravu was named in the Fiji Warriors side for the 2006 Pacific Rugby Cup following impressive outings with the Highlanders in the Colonial Cup.

A year later he debuted against Samoa in Apia.
