TEIVOVO.COM – FMF FLYING FIJIANS

Sisa Koyamaibole (loose forward)
Full name: Sisaro Dautu Koyamaibole
Club:
Taranaki (NZ)
Pacific Rugby Cup team: Fiji Warriors
Colonial Cup team: Highlanders
Fiji club: Lomaiviti, Suva
Born: 6 March 1981 in Suva
Height: 1m91 (6'4")
Weight: 121kg
Test debut: 2001 vs Samoa in Suva
Test caps: 34 - 3 tries 15 points
Total games for Fiji:
44 (6 tries 30 pts)

PACIFIC ISLANDERS:
2 caps
(4 games 1 try 5 pts)

Fiji rugby’s 2000 Colt of the Year, Koyamaibole began his Test career in 2001 against Samoa, and has played in all 25 Tests since. Very confident, the powerful Moala islander loves to charge at the opposition. A naturally gifted athlete, he also represented Fiji at judo.

He played for the Fiji Emerging XV in 2001 when they beat the touring Northern Bulls and was later voted FRU’s Young Player of the Year before heading off to Japan for a one-year contract with Toyota-Shokki.

He won a gold medal with the Fiji 7s team at the World Games in Akita.

Sisa scored a terrific try against the Brumbies in 2003 when he left the winger for dead. And he followed that up with his first Test try against Argentina in Cordoba. He was back to his best against Samoa in June when he made some bulldozing runs and scored an excellent try.

Played in every Test for Fiji since July 2001. Superb athlete that enjoys using his power when charging forward. Has improved discipline at the breakdown, and was nothing short of devastating against Samoa in 2004.

We still haven’t seen the best of this man’s talent.
