FRU sign up Pepsi as official refreshment
The Fiji Rugby Union has signed a three-year agreement with the Tappoo Group of Companies to make Pepsi-Cola the Official Refreshment of Fiji Rugby.
The sponsorship deal comes at an opportune time for the FRU as they prepare for the Rugby World Cup in France. As well as providing all Fiji national teams with a variety of Pepsi products and water throughout the year, the arrangement also sees Gatorade becoming FRU’s Official Sports Drink.
“We’re delighted to have signed up Pepsi with this sponsorship,” FRU chief executive Timoci Tavanavanua said. “Tappoo have been an outstanding partner for Fiji Rugby over the past few years with Nike, Kooga & Sanyo sponsorships. And this new deal is a welcome boost as we start the Test match season and plan for the Sanyo Cup provincial competition.”
Tappoo CEO Madhu Tappoo expressed similar sentiments at the signing and underlined the company’s support to rugby at all levels in Fiji.
“Pepsi has enjoyed tremendous growth in Fiji every year since its first launch in 1990, and this new link to Fiji Rugby is another big step forward.”
